Spontaneously spurred by coastal landscapes and the ever-changing sea, Serena Mitnik-Miller is an adept translator of the natural world. Through the mediums of watercolor, printmaking and photography, she explores the abundant complexities of water, light, color and movement. Ethereal and pure, Mitnik-Miller’s paintings are ingrained with the quiet mystery of the ocean’s unfathomable womb. Primarily composed of concentric shapes, swelling orbs and pulsing bubbles, her free-flowing works strike the perfect balance between geometry and fine art. 2010 marked a decisive step forward in her young career, with two solo exhibitions, three group shows and features in Juxtapoz, The New York Times, and Arkitip, among others. Mitnik Miller is co-founder and creative director of Two Birds Fly and The General Store. She lives and works in San Francisco.
