Classic, mystic and romantic, Ernesto Caivano is both explorer and teacher; an artist intent on forging the private histories of nature, science, technology and the cosmos into one continuous and infinite tome. Working primarily in ink and graphite on paper, Caivano thrives in monochromatic palettes and transformations, building elaborate constructs to surround his epic, non-linear narratives, both stirring and universal. Solo exhibitions of his ongoing story, After the Woods have been held at Guild & Greyshkul in New York, White Cube in London and PS1/MoMA in New York, where his work is part of the permanent collection. Ernesto Caivano is represented by the Richard Heller Gallery in Los Angeles. He lives and works in New York City.
