Ian Spanier is a Photographer who lives in New York. His latest work is a series of portraits of volunteer firefighters across the US for a book due out fall 2012.

"This image was made in Honduras while on assignment for a book on cigar manufacturing. I was assigned to shoot the tobacco field and curing barns. A group of field workers made there way towards us and I asked if I could shoot their portraits. This particular portrait of Tio Cruz was one of my favorites, mostly as it's rare these days that I am able to shoot something for myself while on assignment but also because he had such an interesting face."
