Marti Belcher is a photographer who lives and works in the Washington, DC area. Her latest work is a photoessay exploring the complexities of societal norms in Goa, India.

"Prior to my traveling to Myanmar in 2008, I was reading about Burmese culture. There was one sentence in the guidebook that mentioned the Tattooed Women of Chin. Being a curious soul, I kept researching the subject but there was not much available about these women. In February, 2012 I will return to Burma and continue to develop this fascinating photo story."
